Series #51: Supernatural S13 E16: ScoobyNatural

Hey Gang!

I’m dying to talk about the new episode of Supernatural. I stopped watching a long time ago, but Boy Wonder has faithfully kept up with all thirteen seasons. When I heard rumors that there was going to be a Scooby Doo Crossover episode, of course I was going to be interested. I’d just heard the words, Scooby Doo, Do you know me at all?

I love that CW has their own app for the roku because that’s how I catch up on my Riverdale, and Black Lightning. You can watch the latest episodes a day after they air which is awesome, but don’t be late, because they rotate through the episodes, so if you miss something important then you’ll need to wait for the cycle to start again to watch what you needed.

The first thing I want to say about this episode is that it’s the equivalent of a fan girls dream. Everything you ever wanted to happen as a viewer, happened and it was glorious. The first thing I thought when I heard the rumor, was “God, I hope it’s animated!” Like could you imagine a live action cross over? Like we needed another dumpster fire. (Not that I’m complaining, I’ve literally  watched Scooby Doo in ever iteration ever, including the god awful art of Scooby and Shaggy Get a Clue and the Abomination that is Be Cool, Scooby Doo. I’m just saying that it’s something better when it’s animated)

Not only was it annimated but it also had the regular voice cast, which also made me happy, they didn’t just randomly hire a bunch of people to do the Scooby Gang. The over arching theme I got from this episode, was that they actually cared. Now, let’s fangirl about the actual episode shall we?

The guys blow up an animated stuffed dinosaur in a pawnshop and for their troubles they are gifted with a beautiful LCD Television. Dean being excited about his new beauty completely makes over a room as a man cave. Something weird occurs and the brothers get trapped inside a cartoon. But not just any cartoon, Scooby Doo. I generally compare myself to Sam for this series, but as soon as the brothers hit the malt shop its obvious that I am Dean in this scenario.

After Dean has an absolute Fangirl moment, the team agrees to let the brothers tag along as they enter Sanders Mansion, because they have to spend the night in order to get money from his will. The crossover follows the cartoon episode “ A Night of Fright is No Delight.”

I don’t want to ruin too much of the episode especially since it’s new but I just had to get my fangirlness off my chest. I will be doing a YouTube video later about my favorite things in the episode, once people have had more time to watch it.

However, if you’re reading this and you’ve watched the episode, let’s fangirl about it, either in the comments or on Twitter!
