The Boy Wonder and I went to Walmart the other day, and I found a brand new Scooby Doo Movie on the shelf. I didn't really need anything more but the film gave it to me anyway. There hasn't been a Scooby Doo and Batman Team up episode since the New Scooby-Doo Movies series of the 70's.
Batman: Brave and The Bold, brings our favorite things about the series to Scooby Doo in a 75-minute film. The Gang drives into Gotham to solve a unique string of jewelry thefts, and in solving them are granted access to Batman's group, The Mystery Analysts of Gotham. This group includes Detective Chimp, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Plasticman and The Question. The Film follows the gang and Batman as they try and solve Batman's only unsolved case.
My favorite thing about the film is that it is everything I thought it would be and then some. If you watched the Batman:: Brave and The Bold Cartoon, then everything that you loved about it has been featured. Aquaman's "Outrageous!", The cheesiness of the 60's Batcave, The Giant Penny, Batman's weird lip flaps. Everything, but it does it better.
You get a bit of Batman backstory without it being the only backstory wants to tell about him. His only unsolved case takes you into his past, but not about the death of his parents, it goes to his first year as Batman. Commonly known as Batman: Year One, he even has the long-eared costume.
